Since it was designed to run over a browser that means that there is no need to install any client side software on your end users computers, simply install the application on your intranet server, or on any PC that is capable of running Internet Information Server (this is included in Windows NT, 2000, XP Professional, and Vista). aspWebCalendar can also be easily extended to your extranet and can be viewed by anyone with access to a PC connected to the internet.

.ics (iCal) Subscriptions (Requires IE 5.5 or higher on client side)
aspWebCalendar now allows you to subscribe to .ics based calendars.  iCal is a universal format for sharing calendar data and is widely used by many of the most popular calendar applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple's iCal, and Windows Calendar.  This allows you to easily add content to your calendar... for example you can subscribe to a holiday calendar, movie release calendars, etc... You can also share calendars from Microsoft Outlook using .ics and subscribe to them with aspWebCalendar... basically allowing calendar sharing from Microsoft Outlook personal calendars.

.ics (iCal) Publishing
You can now optionally publish any of your calendars inside aspWebCalendar using the .ics format.  If you calendar is available over the web your visitors can subscribe to your calendars using their favorite desktop application that supports .ics subscriptions.  This is a great feature for sports teams and organizations.  Visitors can subscribe to your schedules and get them right inside Outlook or their favorite desktop PIM client.

Active Directory Integration
You can now sync the calendar with your Active Directory installation.  This allows for zero user and group management inside the calendar.  You can instantly be up and running with personal calendars for everyone in your company in a matter of minutes.  You can even setup a sync script that will sync your directory on a schedule so new users and groups are added automatically.

New side-by-side Day, Week, and Work Week views
Day, Week, and Work Week views now show your calendars side by side so you can get a good look at how your schedules line up for any given configuration of calendars.  Easily view your conference room calendars side by side and pick the best location for your next meeting!

New Faster AJAX based rendering engine
aspWebCalendar 2008 sports a new rendering engine that was built from the ground up using AJAX technologies.  The new engine allows for greatly reduced screen refreshing and is nearly 70% faster than our previous engine!

New website display engine
aspWebCalendar now requires a user to be logged in to the system in order to make changes or add events.  Due to this change we have added a new website display engine that allows you to embed your calendars into your site using this read-only display engine.  You can optionally only publish certain calendars to your website engine as well.  This new engine was designed to be more web friendly and fit well with any type of website or intranet.

Below you will find a detailed description of some of the key features.  The script was designed to look and function exactly like a desktop application rather than a web based application.  Many of the features below can be found in some of the higher end desktop calendar software but are very rare when it comes to web based calendar software:
